ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to clarify the usefulness magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) for evaluation choledochal cyst in children.MRCP performed preoperatively 33 patients. MRCP findings were compared with those endoscopic retrograde or intraoperative cholangiopancreatography. In all patients, could detect cyst. detection rate a main pancreatic duct 62.2%, abnormal union pancreaticobiliary junction (AUPBJ) 53.3%, dilatation abnormalities 75.0% and protein plug stone 76.9%. In patients under 2 years age (group A), these significantly lower than above B) [main duct: 16.6% (1/6) vs 73.1% (19/26), P < 0.01; AUPBJ: 0.0% (0/6) 66.7% (16/24), 0.05; stone: (0/2) 90.9% (10/11), 0.05]. AUPBJ fusiform superior that cystic [70% (14/20) 20% (2/10), dilatation, group A B [0.0% (0/3) 82.4% (14/17), 0.01]; however, there no significant difference between groups dilatation. In older years, should be first-choice method confirming diagnosis ensuring accurate visualization system.
