Background and aims: Cardiac tamponade is a rare complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) especially in the pediatric population as an initial presentation. We report thirteen years old young girl who was admitted to emergency department with severe chest pain, generalized edema, because cardiac plevral effusion, later diagnosed SLE. Aims: SLE should keep mind differencial diagnosis tamponade.
