Comparison of Endoscopic Surgery and Open Surgery for Gluteal Muscle Contracture

ABSTRACT
Purpose To compare the clinical effects of endoscopic surgeries with traditional open in treatment gluteal muscle contracture and discuss their indications value. Methods In this retrospective study, 50 patients received 52 surgeries. The 2 groups were compared terms surgery duration, incision lengths, postsurgical pain, complications, off-bed activity times, hospitalization outcome, 1-year recurrence rates. Result group was significantly superior to regard length, time, patient cosmetic satisfaction. Differences not statistically significant for or rate. All stated that they would choose again. Conclusions release is safe reliable, advantages less trauma shorter operative earlier rehabilitation, return functional activities. Its application, though, should be carefully controlled based on indications. It applicable degree I II patients, but may used only very cautiously III patients. Level Evidence III.
