ABSTRACT
A retrospective study of magnetic resonance imaging the lower lumbar spine. To describe characteristics concave angle vertebral endplate (CAVE) and association between CAVE intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD).The is responsible for transferring stress body, its concavity important in dispersing compression stress. However, relationship IVDD have not been investigated.Magnetic images spine 511 patients with low back pain were examined by 2 experienced surgeons. The grades herniation (LDH) evaluated, several parameters including CAVE, height, sagittal diameter body measured, or LDH was analyzed. At L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1, smaller upper (i.e., inferior superior vertebra) than vertebra). There no male/female difference size any segments. According to partial correlation analysis, moderately related IVDD, but found. When occurs, increases tends flatten. degree flattening severity degeneration.
