ABSTRACT
Retrospective, comparative study. To compare the effects of anterior rod-screw instrumentation and posterior pedicle screw on sagittal balance in patients with Lenke type 5 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).Lenke AIS is treated by or spinal fusion surgery. Most studies comparing surgery have focused assessing improvement coronal balance. Studies are lacking. The records 49 diagnosed were examined. A total 21 underwent between 2000 2003, while 26 2004 2006. Preoperative, postoperative, follow-up thoracic kyphosis (T5-T12 T2-T12), lumbar lordosis, thoracolumbar junction kyphosis, vertical axis measurements made examining radiographs. Quality life was assessed using Scoliosis Research Society-22 questionnaire. All followed up for at least 2 years. There no significant group differences alignment, T11-L2 alignment after Sagittal significantly more pronounced compared group. The segment also shorter scores higher group.Anterior solid results segments, better quality than AIS.
