ABSTRACT
Case-control studies have found increased head growth during the first year of life in children with autism spectrum disorder. Length and weight not been as extensively studied, there are few population-based samples.The study was conducted a sample 106,082 from Norwegian Mother Child Cohort. The were born 1999-2009; by end follow-up on 31 December 2012, age range 3.6 through 13.1 years (mean 7.4 years). Measures obtained prospectively until 12 months for circumference 36 length weight. We compared trajectories disorder cases noncases using Reed first-order models.Subjects included 376 (310 boys 66 girls) specialist-confirmed In disorder, mean similar to that other boys, but variability greater, 8.7% had macrocephaly (head > 97th cohort percentile) age. Autism also slightly body growth, 1.1 cm above 300 g at months. Throughout year, girls reduced-by 0.3 birth 0.5 Their girls, their 150-350 below all ages 3 years. reductions appear be driven those intellectual disability, genetic disorders, epilepsy.Growth diverge differences sex specific. Previous findings replicated.
