Eight to ten million individuals are evaluated for chest pain (CP) in Emergency Departments (ED) the United States each year. CP characteristics an important factor used help determine a diagnosis. We studied relationship between duration of and diagnosis acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients ED.The study population consisted sub-group analysis previously published study. The survey 1024 consecutive encounters who were possible ACS ED Henry Ford Hospital January May 1999, could be obtained 426 included this analysis.Of study, 38 (8.9%) had final AMI, with median 120 minutes (interquartile range, 30-240 minutes), compared 40 6-180 minutes) without AMI (p =0.003). In less than 5 minutes, there no AMIs deaths at 30 days. There 10 dead days, 180 120-1440 10-180 alive days = 0.011). A longer ST depression 1 mm independently associated AMI.Patients have those AMI; short duration, unlikely good prognosis
