ABSTRACT
Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of conjunctivoplasty using an argon green laser in symptomatic patients with conjunctivochalasis (CCh). Methods: Twenty-nine eyes 18 various grades CCh were included this study. All patients, who refractory to conventional therapy, treated laser. The ocular symptoms and signs, including grade, tear Ocular Surface Disease Index, breakup time, Schirmer test, abnormal surface findings, evaluated preoperatively postoperatively. Results: mean age was 69.1 ± 8.4 years. grade 25 (86%) decreased at 6 months after conjunctivoplasty. When reduction rates calculated, 1, 2, 3 100%, 69%, 48%, respectively. Most showed a significant improvement, Index scores from 0.41 0.22 (P < 0.001). time increased 9.1 10.2 = 0.007), but test results did not show any differences surgery 0.257). Conclusions: Conjunctivoplasty is simple effective choice treat CCh, especially cases mild-to-moderate CCh.
