ABSTRACT
To assess maternal and fetal outcomes clinical management of pregnancy in patients with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH).There is a paucity information about outcomes, AIH activity during the postpartum period. There no consensus administration azathioprine breastfeeding.Retrospective analysis 54 pregnancies (3 still progress) 39 patients.The median age at conception was 24 years, 68.4% women had liver cirrhosis. Before early pregnancy, prednisone were administered 48.1%, but treatment regimen usually changed further to 20 mg/d prednisone; 20.4% off treatment. 36 livebirths, loss rates 29.4% (13 miscarriages, 1 stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy). Preterm birth rate 11.8%. In 2 cases, there acute distress; others congenital malformations (3.9%). The serious complication 7.8%, deaths. flares 41.2% pregnancies, aminotransferase elevations occurred 54.9%, 31.4% which true relapses, only registered period.Despite high miscarriage rate, safe. Patients needed careful monitoring, especially period because relapses. evidence cause effect relationship among premature births abnormalities, more studies are necessary. Higher doses may be an alternative option for those who prefer withdrawal pregnancy.
