ABSTRACT
The RT-PCR assay of peritoneal washes has been used to predict metastasis gastric carcinoma. We melanoma associated gene (MAGE) detect carcinoma after curative surgery and evaluated its clinical significance.Eighty-four 23 tumor normal tissues were obtained from 84 patients. MAGE A1-A6 was carried out, the results according their clinicopathologic characteristics. Five-year follow-up studies out periodically, overall survival rates retrospectively investigated using medical records. For paired tissues, expression 65.2% 4.3%, respectively. In fluids, 11 cases (13.1%) revealed expression, higher observed with young age, deeper invasion, advanced stages groups. MAGE-positive had much recurrence than MAGE-negative (45.5% vs. 9.6%, P<0.002). Among T-stage, N-stage, expression; determined be most important prognostic factor for rate by Cox proportional hazard model analysis.MAGE fluid disclosed significant associations proved in patients who undergone radical resection.
