ABSTRACT
Elevated liver enzymes are observed occasionally in patients with acute cholecystitis who do not have choledocholithiasis. The etiology and mechanism of this phenomenon well known. We aimed to compare the clinical characteristics between without choledocholithiasis elevated enzymes. The medical records underwent cholecystectomy January 2001 October 2011 were retrospectively reviewed. retrieved data showed abnormal endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, magnetic resonance or intraoperative cholangiography. We analyzed comorbidities 424 patients. Among enzymes, 178 (42%) did 246 (58%) had median AST, ALT, total bilirubin 47, 82.5 IU/dl, 1.21 mg/dl, respectively, 58, 96 1.53 In a multivariate logistic regression analysis, fatty [odds ratio (OR): 0.218; P<0.001], radiologic findings (OR: 0.414; P=0.001), level 1.410; P=0.001) independent predictors choledocholithiasis.Elevated correlated presence severity finding.
