ABSTRACT
Background and aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a long-term complication after transplantation. Our aims were to determine de-novo-NAFLD at 5-year post-liver transplantation identify predictive risk factors. Methods: This was retrospective analysis of NAFLD defined as the radiological evidence steatosis. Data from transplanted patients between November 2001 May 2014 collected. Noninvasive fibrosis scores calculated. Predictors de-novo survival assessed by multivariate analyses Kaplan–Meier method. Results: A total 252 transplantations evaluated applying exclusion criteria, (78.6% men) with 54.9 years old (SD ± 9.5). Prevalence 36.1%. Cardiovascular events presented in 19.88% 23.08% non-NAFLD patients, ( P = 0.58). On analysis, male sex (OR, 5.40; 0.001), obesity 3.72; 0.017), metabolic syndrome 4.69; < 0.001) diabetes 2.79; 0.018), predictive. Significant (≥F2) 58–86%. The mean control group 166.3 173.6 months, respectively 0 0.50). Conclusion: De-novo fifth-year frequently associated cardiovascular comorbidity. Male sex, obesity, factors NAFLD. significant proportion had advanced fibrosis. trends toward worse patients’ survival.
