ABSTRACT
Small bowel preparation for capsule endoscopy remains controversial. This study was conducted to compare the efficacy of 2 and 4 l polyethylene glycol. One hundred one patients (group A) received 100 B) in a prospective, randomized single-blind trial. To objectively evaluate enteric preparation, cleansing coefficient calculated each patient. The two groups were found comparable regarding age, sex, body mass index, reason referral. In 82 group A 76 B, examination small completed (P =0.40). Gastric emptying time transit both groups. Cleansing coefficients, as whole or proximal distal separately, similar among However, significantly higher than that distal, independently A: P < 0.001, B: P< 0.001). related only with age gastric time; younger patient shorter time, coefficient. Pathological findings 43 (42.6%) 37 (37.0%) B =0.42). final positive diagnosis established 33 (32.7%) 29 (29.0%) = 0.57).The schemes equal completion procedure. Therefore, seems be an adequate endoscopy.
