Effects of Enterostomal Nurse Telephone Follow-up on Postoperative Adjustment of Discharged Colostomy Patients

ABSTRACT
Background: People with a new colostomy encounter many difficulties as they struggle to adjust their ostomies. Nurse telephone follow-up is convenient way ensure continuity of care. There paucity studies testing if nurse can enhance adjustment postdischarged patients. Objectives: The purpose this study was evaluate the effect enterostomal on levels discharged Methods: This randomized controlled trial. Participants (n = 103) who had undergone operations in China were recruited and randomly assigned or control group. Both groups received routine discharge care, whereas group 2–3 calls period. outcome measures included Ostomy Adjustment Scale, Stoma Self-efficacy satisfaction stoma complications.
