Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder During the Initial Stage of COVID-19 Pandemic

ABSTRACT
We aimed to investigate the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on symptom severity and dimensions obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) how patients with different levels insight have been impacted by pandemic. This study included 58 OCD. The Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS)-Obsession, Y-BOCS-Compulsion, Y-BOCS-Total scores during were significantly higher than prepandemic (p = 0.001, p < 0.002, respectively). Compared pre-COVID-19 period, OCD symptoms increased in 39.7% patients, remained same 44.8% reduced 15.5% obsession contamination, Brown Assessment Beliefs (for assessment) score, time spent following news/data about associated an increase severity. In contamination obsessions as well poor insight, close monitoring facilitating access treatment may reduce negative impact
