ABSTRACT
Objectives Appendicitis is the most common abdominal condition leading to urgent surgery in children. With goal of identifying signs and symptoms that will allow prompt diagnosis rupture appendix thus decrease associated morbidities, our aim was determine factors with ruptured appendicitis children diagnosed appendicitis. Methods The medical records aged 17 years or younger a postoperative acute treated at Cathay General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan, from January 2002 May 2009, were retrospectively reviewed. patients divided into without Results Of 228 patients, 140 had pathological nonperforated appendix, 88 perforated resulting perforation rate 38.6%. Younger age, longer duration pain, fever, muscle guarding, elevated C-reactive protein level significantly appendix.
