ABSTRACT
In Brief Purpose: To assess the effects of functional electrical stimulation (FES) ankle dorsiflexors and quadriceps in children with cerebral palsy. Methods: Fourteen (mean age 8 years) were randomly allocated to a treatment or control group. The group received 2 weeks neuromuscular followed by FES used at home school. continued its usual physiotherapy program. Assessment took place baseline before after period. Both groups fitted for gait analysis second final assessments. Results: both groups, resulted significant (p < 0.01) effect on kinematics. However, no long-term using was found.
