ABSTRACT
The aim of the current study was to investigate predictive value metabolic tumor volume (MTV) measured by (18)F-FDG PET/CT for regional lymph node (rLN) metastasis in patients with esophageal cancer.A retrospective review identified 54 surgically resected cancer who received at diagnosis cancer. findings all primary and rLN involvement were compared pathologic within 5 weeks after surgical resection. diagnoses state confirmed Univariate multivariate analyses used analyze associations among status age, sex, T stage, location, differentiation, maximum standardized uptake (SUV(max)), MTV2.5, MTV3.The rLN(+) group showed statistically significant higher SUVmax than rLN(-) (P = 0.0011). MTV2.5 0.0004) MTV3 0.0005) group. In receiver operating characteristic analysis, SUV(max), did not show statistical differences prediction univariate factors significantly associated involvement. However, cancer.Based on presented results, MTV (18)F- FDG is a useful method patients. Further studies are needed confirm these results improve accuracy.
