ABSTRACT
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze electrophysiological properties four main stages ictal patterns patients with operated temporal lobe epilepsy related hippocampal sclerosis. Methods: We included 48 epilepsy–hippocampal Seizures were classified according their and surgical outcomes as seizure-free not seizure-free. EEGs artifacts at the beginning analyzed separately. Results: most frequent type onset rhythmic theta/alpha activity, which correlated group, whereas "switch lateralization" "bitemporal asynchrony" group. When bilateral independent propagation emerged, seizures tended predict side epileptogenic zone wrongly. As a later significant pattern, activity lateralized focus correctly. Seizure termination significantly concordant sclerosis lateralization in Conclusion: Ictal pattern correlates well seizure freedom. Morphology more important determining reliability than time appearance. short are seen be valuable presurgical evaluation. Lateralization ipsilateral MRI indicates good prognosis after surgery. Scalp EEG monitoring helps zones postsurgical outcomes.
