ABSTRACT
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is considered to be the ninth leading cause of death and one major public health problems in world. The prevalence hepatitis Nigeria has been rated 8.3%. Hence, this study investigate a tertiary institution Oyo State. Informed consent were obtained from out-patients attending clinics. design was cross-sectional questionnaires administered their knowledge attitude towards safer practices against spread HBV. seroprevalence participants examined with LabAcon rapid kit 98.2% - 100% 97.2% 99.8 for specificity sensitivity respectively. population distribution observed 45 (90%) female 5 (10%) male. HBsAg found 10%. among 11.1%. relationship between HBV sex insignificant (0.546) however age significant (0.004). occurrence still area concern because possibility spread. This could better curtailed based on regular awareness about infection.
