ABSTRACT
A Gram-staining-positive, endospore-forming, moderately alkaliphilic bacterium, strain NPK15 T , was isolated from a typical sandy loam soil under long-term NPK fertilization in northern China and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic study. The diamino acid of the cell-wall peptidoglycan found be meso -diaminopimelic sugars were xylose, glucose traces mannose. only respiratory quinone menaquinone 7 (MK-7). major cellular fatty acids iso-C 15 : 0 anteiso-C C 16 1 ω6 c /C ω7 . polar lipids diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine phosphatidylglycerol. Phylogenetic analysis based on its 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that it related most closely ‘ Bacillus thaonhiensis ’ KACC 17216 (99.59 %), B. songklensis KCTC 13881 (99.52 %) abyssalis CCTCC AB 2012074 (99.00 %). DNA–DNA hybridization results indicated distinct other species genus degree relatedness being 35.4 % with 39.7 51.2 17216. DNA G+C content 45.5 mol%. Phenotypic, chemotaxonomic molecular analyses identified as member novel for which name fengqiuensis sp. nov. is proposed. type ( = DSM 26745 2013156 ).
