ABSTRACT
This study reports on the complete genome sequence of Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3, type member genus Ampelovirus. The is 17 919 nt in size and contains 13 open reading frames (ORFs). Previously, 154 3'-terminal was reported. newly sequenced portion a 158 5' UTR, single papain-like protease methyltransferase-like (MT) domain. ORF1a encodes large polypeptide with molecular mass 245 kDa. With predicted +1 frameshift, fusion protein generated from ORF1a/1b would produce 306 kDa polypeptide. Phylogenetic analysis using MT domains further supports creation Ampelovirus for mealy-bug-transmitted viruses family Closteroviridae.
