ABSTRACT
Abstract Background The extent of infection by coronavirus disease 2019 has not been well known. In this study we aimed to determine seropositivity COVID-19 virus in population a highly affected area north Iran. Methods population-based cluster random sampling design through phone call invitation, total 196 household including 551 subjects agreed participate study. Each participant were taken 50ml blood sample at health care center. Rapid test kits used detect antibody against COVID-19. Crude, population-weight adjusted and performance prevalence SARS-CoV-2 reported. Results was 22% (95%CI: 19-26%). weight estimate 21% 14-29%) 33% 28-39%). Based on these estimates the range infected people province would be between 518000 777000. Conclusion indicated that asymptomatic is much higher than number confirmed cases This can better fatality rate decide for public policy guidelines.
