ABSTRACT
Abstract Currently, most blood tests in a clinical setting only investigate handful of markers. A low-cost, rapid, and highly multiplexed platform for the quantitative detection biomarkers has potential to advance diagnostics beyond single biomarker paradigm. In this study, we perform nanopore sequencing barcoded molecular probes that have been engineered recognise panel biological targets (miRNAs, proteins, small molecules such as neurotransmitters), allowing simultaneous detection. Our workflow is from sample preparation results 1 hour. We also demonstrate strategy can be used detect directly human serum without extraction or amplification. The established method easily adaptable, number type detected greatly expanded depending on application required.
