ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective This study was conducted to investigate the hypertension and arterial stiffness (AS) in predicting future atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk. Methods: We included 6530 participants from Chinese People′s Liberation Army General Hospital. AS assessed by measuring brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) were stratified into two groups: ASCVD≥10% or ASCVD<10% a risk threshold of 10%. The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis Cox proportional model evaluated ASCVD between with ideal vascular function (IVF defined as normal normotension), normotension (NTAS), baPWV (HTNAS) (HTAS). C statistics used compare status determining Results After median follow-up 2.17 years, 672 high identified. Compared IVF group, highest exhibited HTAS group ( HR =2.252, 95%CI =1.733∽2.927), followed NTAS =1.888, =1.583∽2.252) HTNAS =1.827, =1.144∽2.916). Multiple sensitivity subgroup analyses yielded similar results. Additionally, compared addition traditional model, elevated incremental effect on predicted value (the statistic 0.824 vs 0.817, integrated discrimination improvement 0.80% 0.20%, net reclassification index 25.00% 12.20%). Conclusions individuals had higher ASCVD, amplified these associations after adjusting for confounders. Otherwise, showed better predictive power than
