ABSTRACT
Abstract Soil-borne cyst nematodes are obligatory sedentary parasites that cause severe losses to cultivation of major crops such as potato and soybean. Cyst establish specialised permanent feeding sites within the roots their host by manipulating plant morphology physiology through secreted effectors. Here we identified targets effector GpRbp-1 studied roles in plant-nematode interactions. was found interact yeast planta with Arabidopsis homologues Siz/PIAS-type E3 SUMO ligase SIZ1. Our results show a pathogen master regulator SIZ1 cells, which has not been demonstrated earlier our knowledge. The interaction localizes nucleus, suggesting nuclear functions immunity may be modulated GpRbp-1. Furthermore, nematode infection assays transcriptomic profiling indicate is required for susceptibility nematodes. So, these data ligases play an important role Based on prediction acceptor GpRbp-1, model proposed recruit SUMOylated full functionality cells. Significance statement can target SIZ1, key protein involved regulating several aspects biology, most likely manipulate SUMOylation proteins successful plants.
