ABSTRACT
The polarization degree of freedom is an inherent feature plane waves propagating in isotropic homogeneous medium. miniaturization optical systems leads to the high localization electromagnetic waves, but also loss control, namely, breaking TE-TM degeneracy. In this work, we discover near-field for highly localized guided along a dielectric metasurface. We demonstrate opportunity create metasurface with degenerate spectrum required operating wavelength and different constitutive materials. particular, analyze several possible implementations including silicon nitride ceramic metasurfaces consisting disk-shaped resonators, evaluate impact substrates. Finally, experimentally implement one designs verify its broadband spectrum. obtained results form alternative platform planar devices utilizing light. Published by American Physical Society 2025
