ABSTRACT
<para xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"> Sensing properties of long-period gratings (LPGs) fabricated in photonic crystal fibers by an electric arc are explained and quantified semianalytical numerical models. In particular, the grating's insensitivity to temperature simultaneous sensitivity strain refractive index simulated. The modeling procedure is generalized so that it can be applied a wide range LPGs various fibers. </para>
