Precise Multiple Frequency Identification Based on Frequency-to-Time Mapping and Cross-Correlation

ABSTRACT
We propose and demonstrate a microwave frequency identification system based on frequency-to-time mapping (FTTM) cross-correlation. The unknown signals the bidirectional chirped probe signal are mixed by using dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator. mixing products equivalently selected dispersion induced photonic filter converted into electrical pulses in time domain. is measured calculating interval of pulses. Moreover, scheme cross-correlation proposed to eliminate noise interference for pulse position acquisition. Experimentally, single multiple from 2–14 GHz successfully demonstrated, errors less than ±3 MHz.
