ABSTRACT
Polarization controlling devices on thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) are critical components for photonic integrated circuits (PICs) the platform because birefringence of intrinsically determines its polarization-dependent property. Here, we propose and demonstrate a compact polarization splitter-rotator (PSR) TFLN based two adiabatic tapers an asymmetric directional coupler with effective length only 240 <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$\mu$</tex-math></inline-formula> m. The device is fabricated via one-step electron beam lithography (EBL) inductively coupled plasma (ICP) etching process. Our shows efficient extinction at telecom C-band, providing ratio (PER) 26.6 dB 12.2 TE TM mode, respectively. highest PER both exceed 30 1544 nm insertion loss less than 0.91 dB. expected to apply multiplexing modulating, indispensable component PICs in future.
