ABSTRACT
Free space optical communication has attracted attention owing to its diverse advantages in satellite communication. However, requires high power overcome losses. This paper proposes a new modulation method that increases the 3 dB of on-off keying signal without adding additional bandwidth using single Mach-Zehnder delay interferometer (MZDI) and saturated erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) at transmitter. Owing average-limiting property EDFA, reducing effective duty cycle ratio peak output EDFA. The can be reduced by MZDI Mathematical analysis, simulation, proof-of-concept experiment proposed schemes were performed.
