ABSTRACT
This letter presents a power-amplifier (PA)-stabilization technique based on the low-frequency out-of-band feedback. The proposed structure replaces conventional stability network to ensure unconditional at frequencies up radio-frequency (RF) operating band, with in- and above-band stabilized through matching design. approach offers an alternative inserting lossy components in RF signal path, which can significantly degrade realizable in-band gain of amplifier. 900-MHz proof-of-concept PA 10-W gallium-nitride (GaN) device is characterized under continuous-wave (CW) Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) excitations realizes 25.6-dB small-signal 73% power added efficiency (PAE) P3dB.
