ABSTRACT
A single-fed dual-band dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with orthogonal circular polarizations (CPs) in K</i> - and xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Ka</i> -bands is proposed for satellite communications on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The overcomes the challenges of dual-CP operation, narrow axial-ratio bandwidth (ARBW) antennas, limited payload space UAVs. shared-aperture merged-structure technique DRA slot-dipole radiation, thus enabling full-duplex operation compact size high isolation systems. CPs two frequency bands can be controlled independently by a phase compensation method. Besides, broadened ARBW enhanced gain are attained from stacked DR, which capacity reliability communication achieved. prototype operating at right-handed CP (RHCP) lower band, whereas left-handed (LHCP) upper band has been designed measured. It features 10-dB impedance bandwidths 6.4% 12.8%, 3-dB 5.2% 4.1% bands, respectively. provides low cost solution isolation, throughput, small UAV
