ABSTRACT
Delirium is a serious condition often experienced by critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs). The role of circadian light for this unclear. aim study was to describe incidence delirium, risk factors and the association between delirium ICU.This retrospective cohort all at Danish ICU from 1 August 2015 31 January 2016. Exclusion criteria were heavy sedation, no Confusion Assessment Method (CAM-ICU) scores, or inability communicate Danish. defined as least one positive CAM-ICU score treatment with haloperidol. Three nine beds had installation. Allocation without depended on availability admission. Risk development analyzed simple multiple logistic regression. We included 183 study. 28% (95% CI 22, 35). lighting not associated (OR 1.14; 95% 0.55, 2.37; P = 0.73). We found that Simplified Acute Physiology Score II (SAPS II) 1.03; 1.01, 1.06; 0.002), dexmedetomidine 4.14; 1.72, 10.03; 0.002).In population admitted an during 6 months, 28%. did find delirium.
