ABSTRACT
Abstract Bed bugs ( Cimex spp.) have undergone a global resurgence over the last 15–20 years. They readily bite humans, producing range of cutaneous reactions. This article documents systemic reactions in two patients following repeated bites from common bed bug, lectularius . Both had previously fed on themselves without any serious complication, however upon feeding new batch insects subsequently developed urticarial Patient 1 40–50 himself and after 8 min, he itch, swelling face, lethargy, profuse sweating widespread wheals torso limbs. The reaction disappeared 5 h treatment with prednisone antihistamines. 2 similar five to six himself. In this case, patient also chest tightness breathing difficulties. Following treatment, symptoms 4 h. light increasing exposure insect general public, may present more commonly medical practitioner.
