ABSTRACT
The thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) has been indicated as a putative domestication gene in chicken. Comparison of WGS identified variant residue 558 the transmembrane domain (TM) TSHR, where domestic chicken (GGD) presents an arginine, whereas red jungle fowl (RJF) shares conserved glycine with other vertebrates. This demonstrated to be associated phenotypes that are important for and related thyroid regulation, such less fearful behavior, reduced aggressive behavior dependence on seasonal reproduction GGD compared RJF. By means molecular dynamics simulations, we highlighted structural dynamic differences Gly558Arg TSHR TM domain. Alterations helix flexibility, structure protein overall motion described. so-called 'arginine snorkeling' 568 is observed hypothesize it originating force produces whole-protein perturbation bundle dynamics, capable altering signal transduction. results discussed context their implications better understanding biological mechanisms under control thyroid, body metabolism, well usefulness biomedical research.
