ABSTRACT
The most significant bone used in taxonomic research is the skull. This study attempted to identify differences between three cat species by measuring skulls of each using computed tomography sections. a total 32 skulls, including 16 Van Cats, eight British Shorthairs and Scottish Folds. Cat had highest values for cranial skull length, whereas Shorthair lowest values. difference Fold length measures was not statistically significant. However, result different from other (p < 0.05). broadest head (cranial width: 41.02 ± 0.79 mm). These results demonstrated that scull longer but thinner than species. In comparison species, form more rounded. Internal height cranium measurements were this measurement 27.81 1.58 mm, while Shorthairs, it 30.23 1.89 mm. Measurements foremen magnum any Cat's foramen (Foramen height: 11.59 0.93 mm; Foramen 14.18 0.70 index (Cranial index: 55.50 4.02). value 50.19 2.16). differed Between None Shorthair. width age-to-measurement correlation (r = 0.310), although insignificant. Skull weight-to-measurement correlations (R 0.809), proved be distinguished male female clearly 0.000).
