ABSTRACT
Although the incidence of major adverse events in surgical daycare centres is low, these critical may not be managed optimally due to absence resources that exist larger hospitals. We aimed study impact operating theatre event checklists on medical management and teamwork during whole-team crisis simulations staged a facility. studied 56 simulation encounters (without with checklist available) divided between an initial session then retention several months later. Medical were quantified via percentage adherence key processes Team Emergency Assessment Measure, respectively. In session, was improved by presence (56% without vs. 62% checklist; p = 0.50). teams performed significantly worse (36% 60% 0.04). did observe change non-technical skills either or sessions (68% 69% (p 0.94) 65% 0.36), respectively). Critical do improve simulated crises ambulatory setting.
