ABSTRACT
The efficacy of a novel curcumin derivative (NCD) versus tadalafil in erectile signalling was assessed. Ten control male rats and 50 diabetic were used divided into the following: (DM), (CURC), NCD, NCD combined with rat groups. Cavernous tissue gene expression heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), Nrf2, NF-B p38, enzyme activities oxygenase (HO) nitric oxide synthase (NOS), cGMP intracavernosal pressure (ICP)/mean arterial (MAP) Results showed that 12 weeks after induction diabetes, dysfunction (ED) confirmed by significant decrease ICP/MAP, cGMP, NOS, HO activities, HO-1 increase NF-Ҡβ, p38 genes. Administration all therapeutic interventions led to levels, NOS enzymes, HO-1, Nrf2 expression, expression. or its combination superiority more prolonged duration action. In conclusion, tendency observed CURC have high action enhancing function.
