ABSTRACT
Multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella (MMAF) is a characteristic form severe asthenozoospermia and closely related to male infertility. However, it not sure whether intracytoplasmic injection (ICSI) allows MMAF patients reproductive success. The present study reported first case successful injection-embryo transfer (ICSI-ET) in Chinese brothers with novel compound heterozygous mutation FSIP2 (fibrous sheath interacting protein 2), newly identified MMAF-related genes. proband his brother were referred for because their abnormal flagellum. Through whole-exome sequencing genetic analyses proband, parents showed that carry (c.1750T>A c.13600A>G), which will lead expression loss its function. Considering these had phenotype, we recommended ICSI treatment. outcome indicated lose-function might have any effect on ICSI, although latest report failed patient mutation. This provides new knowledge understand caused by outcome.
