ABSTRACT
Accurate markers of atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrences after electrical cardioversion (ECV) are lacking. This study was conducted to assess the value P-wave signal averaging (SAPW) for predicting AF in a nonselected patients population submitted ECV.A total 133 (107 males, 26 females, mean age 66 ± 9 years) were included successful ECV persistent (mean duration 3.6 2.2 months). The ejection fraction (EF) 60 9%, and left (LA) diameter 44 6 mm. SAPW ECG obtained immediately prospectively followed.During follow-up 8.9 5.2 months, occurred 40.6% (54/133). No parameters statistically different between group with without recurrences. Recurrences less often observed <150 ms (16/52 or 31% vs 38/81 47% ≥150 ms) but difference not (P = 0.07). correlated (r 0.32; P < 0.001) 0.19; 0.02). Age, sex, structural heart disease, amiodarone therapy, hypertension associated had shorter more history previous ablation 0.027).In this unselected "real-life" AF, none parameters, including filtered duration, able predict
