ABSTRACT
To assess the prognostic value of preoperative 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography in patients with high-risk stage II or III colon cancer who underwent FOLFOX chemotherapy. The study included 166 received FOLFOX4 chemotherapy. Retrospective patient data were analysed including pathological stage, histology, disease-free survival (DFS) and maximum standardized uptake (SUVmax ) primary tumour on tomography. The end point was DFS.There recurrences 29 (17.4%). Measuring area under receiver operating characteristic curve, cut-off SUVmax sensitivity specificity 10.95. Using Kaplan-Meier method, DFS categorized by tended to differ (P = 0.055). In univariate analyses, risk factors for age over 70 years, higher N neural invasion. ≤ 10.95 showed a tendency, but not significant 0.0604). multivariate invasion. The results this suggest that high fluorodeoxyglucose mass does significantly correlate DFS.
