ABSTRACT
Evaluations of services targeting obese women's gestational weight gain often report low uptake. Thus it is important to elicit the reasons why pregnant women decline participate in these and identify their barriers participation. Sixteen postnatal were interviewed regarding for declining a group-based service gain. All interviews recorded, transcribed verbatim analyzed thematically. Both pragmatic motivational identified. The most common practical not attending its inconvenient location time, feeling unable attend due work commitments. Pregnancy-specific included decreased mobility unwell. Motivational lack interest wanting focus on one's pregnancy. These findings highlight issues that need be taken into consideration when designing management this population.
