ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to report the current status ovarian tissue cryopreservation among alternatives for fertility preservation in Nordic countries.A questionnaire was sent 14 academic reproductive centers with established programs. It covered cases performed up December 2014, standard procedures and oocyte outcomes following transplantation.Among countries, Denmark Norway practice as a clinical treatment (822 164 cases, respectively) their programs are centralized. In Sweden (457 cases), practiced at five six Finland all (145 cases). Nearly considered be experimental. Iceland, embryo only option preservation. Most use slow-freezing methods cryopreservation. patients selected were newly diagnosed cancer predominantly retrieved laparoscopically by unilateral oophorectomy. Only minor complications reported. total, 46 women have undergone transplantation aiming recovering fertility, 17 healthy children been born several additional pregnancies currently ongoing. Whenever patients' condition permissive, after hormonal stimulation preferred Between 2012 smaller proportion females centers, comparison males (1:3).Overall, reported safe. Slow freezing still preferred. Promising results recovery countries that initiated procedures.
