ABSTRACT
We describe a rare case of prosthetic valve endocarditis caused by the canine bacterium Capnocytophaga canimorsus in male aged 73 years. The diagnosis infective was unequivocal, as it blood cultures were positive for C. and vegetations detected on transesophageal echocardiography; modified Duke criteria fulfilled. PET ‐ CT showed intense 18 F‐ FDG uptake area. patient treated with antibiotics alone (no surgery), is now life‐long suppressive antibiotic therapy. To our knowledge, this third reported first one to have been conservatively.
