ABSTRACT
An experimental trial was conducted for 90 days to evaluate the growth performance, immunophysiological response of GIFT strain Tilapia in biofloc-based rearing system and assess relative percentage survival 3 after challenging with virulent Aeromonas hydrophila. Fingerlings an average body weight 0.98 ± 0.06 g were stocked triplicate at different stocking densities 200 (SD1), 250 (SD2), 300 (SD3) 350 (SD4) m−3 treatments 150 (C) control (clear water). Biofloc-based units (SD1 SD2) obtained significantly better (P < 0.05) performances end period. Mean fish showed a decreasing trend increase density 100% all including control. The stress parameters lower especially SD1 SD2 as compared from possessed higher immune status other biofloc terms respiratory burst, serum lysozyme myeloperoxidase activity. Relative percentages highest (83.33%) challenge study. 200–250 nos can be taken optimum whereas up reared systems without compromising immunity.
