ABSTRACT
The growth patterns and water treatment capacity of Nitzschia sp. benthic diatoms in different concentrations sea cucumber aquaculture wastewater (0%, 10%, 30%, 50%, 80% 100%) f/2 medium were studied. grew showed remarkable differences their rate among the groups. most quickly (0.83 ind/day) greatest total chlorophyll-a content 30% wastewater. strongly correlated (R2 > 0.98). lipid (TL), protein, exopolysaccharide (EPS) intracellular polysaccharide (IPS) contents highest 100% significant experimental groups (p < 0.05). Total nitrogen (TN), ammonium-nitrogen (NH4-N) (AN), nitrate (NO3-N) (NN), nitrite (NO2-N) (NIN) phosphate (TP) significantly reduced after cultivation. TN uptake peaked at 54.58% AN exceeded 95% NN 56.42% wastewater, whereas TP ranged from 16.80% to 27.69%. These results suggest that biomass can be enhanced via cultivation low-concentration (30%) which may continued high-concentration (100%) increasing nutritional value aiding removal surplus phosphorus Application using recirculating wastewater-treatment methods described has potential reduce environmental harm caused by thus achieve sustainable aquaculture.
