ABSTRACT
Abstract Skeletal muscle fiber is largely classified into two types: type 1 (slow‐twitch) and 2 (fast‐twitch) fibers. Meat quality composition of types are thought to be closely related. Previous research showed that overexpression constitutively active peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor ( PPAR )δ, a nuclear present in skeletal muscle, increased fibers mice. In this study, we found hexane extracts Yamabushitake mushroom Hericium erinaceus ) δ agonistic activity vitro . Eight‐week‐old C57 BL /6J mice were fed diet supplemented with 5% (w/w) freeze‐dried for 24 hr. After the treatment period, extensor digitorum longus EDL muscles excised. The Yamabushitake‐supplemented up‐regulated target genes Pdk4 Ucp3 mouse vivo Furthermore, feeding 8 weeks resulted significant increase endurance. These results indicate contains ligands dietary intake could activate Unexpectedly, observed no alterations between control diets.
