ABSTRACT
Objectives To estimate the diagnostic accuracy of sentinel lymph node biopsy ( SNB ) in patients with penile cancer and assess complications a national multicentre setting. Patients methods Retrospectively data were collected from records four university centres by one medical doctor covering all s performed Denmark between 1 January 2000 31 December 2010. had either impalpable nodes LN s) or both groins, palpable inguinal mass which aspiration cytology failed to reveal malignancy. injected nanocolloid technetium scintigram recorded before . The primary endpoint was recurrence on follow‐up. secondary after Diagnostic computed. Results In all, 409 groins 222 examined median (interquartile range) follow‐up who survived 6.6 (5–10) years. Of 343 negative eight false negatives. sensitivity 89.2% (95% confidence interval 79.8–95.2%) per groin. Interestingly, 67 T1G1 positive 28 (13%) Clavien‐Dindo grade I– III a. Conclusion Penile close stages involvement reliably has few Inguinal dissection avoided 76% patients.
