ABSTRACT
Morocco constitutes an important centre of plant diversity and speciation in the Mediterranean Basin. However, numerous species are threatened by issues ranging from human activities to global climatic change. In this study, we present conservation assessments Red Listing endemic Moroccan monocotyledons according International Union for Conservation Nature (IUCN) criteria categories. For each species, include basic taxonomic information, local names synonyms, uses, a distribution map, extent occurrence, area occupancy, population size trend, description habitats ecological requirements, discussion threats affecting habitats. We assessed status at level (59 species) using IUCN List categories (Version 3.1). This study shows high extinction risk monocotyledon flora, with 95% (20% Critically Endangered, 50% 25% Vulnerable) only 5% not (2% Near Threatened 3% Least Concern). The flora is thus concern, which poorly recognized, both nationally internationally. presents first part so far national Data large group plants, provides overview flora. step towards recognition danger biodiversity hotspots, raising public awareness international levels.
